Greening North Alabama: HIS Landscapes & Outdoor Living, Premier Sod Service

At HIS Landscapes & Outdoor Living, we understand that a lush, green lawn is more than just a visual treat—it's the foundation of your outdoor living space. Serving North Alabama, we offer a sod installation service that transforms your yard into a vibrant, inviting area perfect for relaxation and enjoyment.

Why Choose Sod Over Seed?

Instant Results: Sod provides an immediate lawn transformation. Unlike seeding, which can take weeks to establish, sod gives you a mature lawn the day it's laid, ready for you to enjoy.
Year-Round Installation: With sod, you aren't confined to specific planting seasons. We can install sod throughout the year, providing flexibility in your landscaping schedule.
Soil Stabilization: Sod helps prevent erosion, offering a quick solution to stabilize soil in newly constructed or reshaped areas.
Our Comprehensive Sod Service
Quality Selection: We source our sod from the best local farms, ensuring you get grass varieties well-suited to North Alabama's climate, including Bermuda, Zoysia, and Fescue, each chosen for their resilience, beauty, and maintenance requirements.
Preparation: Before laying sod, we prepare your lawn thoroughly:
  • Soil Testing: We analyze your soil to ensure it's at the optimal pH and nutrient level for the sod to thrive.
  • Grading: Proper grading prevents water pooling and ensures even growth across your lawn.
  • Weed and Debris Removal: A clean slate means a healthier start for your new lawn.
Installation: Our skilled team employs best practices for laying sod:
  • Edge to Edge: Each piece of sod is laid tightly edge to edge to avoid gaps where weeds might grow.
  • Rolling: After installation, we roll the sod to ensure good soil contact, promoting root establishment.
Post-Installation Care: We don't just install and leave; we guide you through the initial care of your new lawn:
  • Watering Schedules: Detailed advice on how much and when to water your sod for optimal rooting.
  • Maintenance Tips: From mowing to fertilization, we provide you with all the know-how to keep your lawn pristine.

Benefits of Our Sod Service

Durability: Our sod is chosen for its durability, ensuring your lawn can withstand the wear and tear of daily use.
Aesthetic Appeal: A well-laid sod lawn instantly boosts the curb appeal of your property, enhancing both residential and commercial spaces.
Environmental Considerations: We select sod varieties that require less water once established, promoting a greener, more sustainable lawn.
